Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit. My name is Jerome Plaisance.
I was born in the south of France and my parents originated from Guadeloupe, a French Caribbean Island. As a small child, I travelled the world with my family whenever and wherever my father’s military duties required.
Change came to be the norm during my impressionable years, a time when I found myself focusing much of my youthful energy into the world of athletics for which I developed a great fascination, excelling in short and long distance running along with a variety of other outdoor sports.

Through high school, I enjoyed further success in track and field, particularly in the 800m run for which I represented France at a secondary school level. After going on to study tertiary economics, I became attracted to the physical challenge afforded by military life and so I committed to a five-year contract with the French Special Forces, which at times had me operating with my regiment under the United Nations. It was during these military years that my passion for the marathon began.
After seeing through my military obligations and then carrying out a ten-year assignment for France’s Ministry for the Economy and Finance, I moved from Paris to Australia, planting roots firmly in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Bringing with me much athletics and fitness experience, I began working with children living with intellectual disabilities for NSW’s Department of Community Services, sharing my skills and knowledge as a fitness trainer through a program called “Post School Option.”
It was during that time that I embarked on a self-actualisation venture. In 2010, I achieved a Bachelor of Social Science with a major in psychology at the University of New England and in 2018, I graduated from Sydney University with a Degree in Counselling. In 2021, my plan is to enrol at Western Sydney University to obtain a Master in psychotherapy and counselling.
Outside of my training commitments I now counsel adults and families, as well as children and adults who live with intellectual disabilities.
My mission is to “help others transform for the better – for health and for life.”
